I remember at the beginning of the year, thinking how May was going to be an exciting month. We were planning on moving and I just felt like May was when this whole baby thing was going to actually seem around the corner.
Well it’s finally May and it has been a whirlwind so far. We moved into our new place April 30th and have spent the first half of the month getting all settled in.
Here are my favorites from the month thus far…
A little coffee, Jesus and Jen Hatmaker (but seriously I’m obsessed with this book).
I had gotten out of my normal morning routine for a while now, but since we’ve moved in I have been back on track. It seriously makes my day 100x better when I have this quiet, alone time in the mornings. I’m currently doing the Women of the Old Testament study on the She Reads Truth app and loving it as well.
Baby A has a room (and a name, but not ready to share just yet). Even though it’s still empty, I love that I get to call it hers. I can’t believe that a little human will be occupying that space in just a few months. Probably need to get her some furniture soon…
Mae and Rae
For the last month or so I’ve been following Mae and Rae on Instagram. They make the sweetest, simple bows and headbands (I also stalked their page looking for baby names from their brand reps hehe). When I saw an announcement for free shipping the other day, I had to finally bite the bullet and make my first purchase (or two). My headbands came in last Friday and I am in love. So simple but so precious, and the headband is soooo soft! I don’t have to worry about squeezing my baby’s brains. I am already trying to decide what to buy next…
It’s finally feeling like autumn in Brisbane! Granted it may get up to 26 (80F) in the afternoon but I will take it! Today was the first day I was able to bust out my (very light) jacket AND a scarf! Our new place gets a great breeze, so we’ve been able to just open the patio doors and windows and leave the AC off and it feels perfect! Now let’s hope it sticks around…
I had big plans to make some oatmeal chocolate muffins last Friday, but then I couldn’t figure out how to turn the oven on (not joking). So determined to still make a treat, I started pinteresting no bake recipes and found this one by Cookies and Cups. I made it extra healthy by throwing in some chocolate chips. They were so easy and the perfect little after dinner treat all week, I can’t wait to make them again.
Until Thursday morning we haven’t had internet at the new place (and didn’t have a TV until Sunday). So we had to get creative for our evening entertainment. In came the Dallas Season 1&2 DVDs (the original 1978 version) I bought Trav 4 years ago when we were obsessed with the modern version. We never made it very far with them back in Houston and I’m not really sure how they made the journey with us, but I’m so glad they did now. We’ve been watching a couple each night on my laptop and enjoying seeing what kind of mischief JR is causing on Southfork.
Well that’s all for today, next week I will be back to talk about our hike up Bald Rock from our Granite Belt Getaway.
