Hi friends, hope everyone had a great week!
I’m back for the second time this week, so maybe (just maybe) that means I’m back on some sort of blog schedule.
Here’s what’s been happening in our parts the past week…
We had a really low key weekend last weekend, but Sunday we decided to get some baby errands done. We made our first voyage to Babies R Us and only walked out with some diapers and wipes (priorities). We then decided to drive across town to face IKEA once again and ended up leaving with a crib and rocker.
Trav put it together right when we got home and now I love walking by there and peaking in. I’ve been in full on nursery mode now, pinning and making collages of everything under the sun. My favorite though is the crib sheet I ordered from Little Unicorn (in the top right).
Eek can’t wait to get more done!
Also in baby related news, I received this beauty in my e-mail inbox…
My sweet friends, Emily Anne and Ameilia, are hosting a high tea/baby shower for me and the baby in a couple weeks. I love the tea party/book theme. They know me so well. I’m so excited for June 5th!
After having several annoying issues with my pelvis and back, my gym sessions are getting more and more limited. So I’ve decided to try out a pre-natal Pilates class at a local studio. I had to do an hour consultation with a physiotherapist on Wednesday, and as weird as it sounds I absolutely loved it. She was able to clearly explain to me exactly what was going on in my body and why I was having pain. She even hooked me up to the sonogram machine to show me my different muscles and what they were doing when I did different exercises (plus we got to see a little baby in the corner).
I took my first class today and really liked it. It was my first time using any of the Pilates machines and I feel like I got a good workout and also some good stretches. I can’t wait to go back!
Thursday, Emily Anne and I went to a free cooking demonstration put on by a teacher recruitment agency.
The agency recruits teachers to teach in the UK, and even though neither of are interested in that we couldn’t turn down a free event. They had one of the finalists from the Aussie cook my show “My Kitchen Rules” (Jake Harrison) talk about easy, healthy lunches for busy teachers and then demonstrate a recipe.
He made a slow cooked brisket beforehand and then a colorful salad in front of. Everything was super fresh and easy to make. It tasted delicious! My favorite part was the cannoli they gave us for dessert. 🙂
My friend, Lauren, lent me the book Bringing Up Bebe. It’s a non-fiction book by an American expat in Paris and her observations on the differences in parenting. So far I’ve found it really interesting and I can’t wait to read more.
It’s been a pretty busy week and I’m ready for a relaxing weekend at home! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Linking up with Andrea as usual.
