Hi friends! I am back in Australia and ready to get back into blogging. I started this post two and a half months ago and finally getting around to finishing it. When I left off we had visited the Bay of Fires and spent the night in Scamander.
The next morning we checked out and headed to a different bay, Wineglass Bay, in the Freycinet National Park. We took the trail up to the top, stopping at a few lookouts on the way.
We had done this hike before, but I didn’t remember it being such a workout. By the time we got to the top, I was quite puffed. As was Leighton…
We took pictures and hung out at the lookout for a while…
then Travis had the idea to take the hike down to the beach. The walk down was pretty steep, but I just kept thinking how we were going to have to walk back up. When we got down to the beach though it was pretttttty impressive (although Leighton was less than impressed).
After hiking back up to the lookout, it’s safe to say we had worked off all the wine and cheese consumed so far on the trip. We also had worked up quite an appetite. We headed back down the mountain, stopping first by Honeymoon Bay to check out the view.
We stopped by a little town for lunch at a cafe and then continued on to our next stop- Hobart. Buttttt more on that next week!
If you are catching up on our Tasmania trip….

Happy Wonderful Wednesday 🙂
Linking up with my lovely friends: Lauren, Marcella, Van and Isabel.
what a nice beach:) #wanderfulwednesday
It was chilly but gorgeous.
What a beautiful, crystal clear bay!! Perfect place to escape! No crowds! Looks like heaven! #WanderfulWednesday
If only it was warm enough to get in the water!
That’s an awesome name for a bay! Such a remote beauty. Looks like the perfect little trip for a new family. 🙂 #wanderfulwednesdays
I love the name too 🍷! It was such a lovely trip.
I know I would have been thinking the exact same thing as you, how in the world are we going to get back up once we hike down to the beach! The view looks so incredible though that I know that I would have gotten over it!
I was glad we did the hike once we got down there, but I was hurting at the time. Two months postpartum and I had a cold so I was all stuffed up 😬.
That hike down to the beach was totally worth it, such pretty water! Love all of Leighton’s expressions, like Tasmania, okay, I’m over it lol.
The water was so gorgeous I only wished it was warm enough to swim!
Such a gorgeous place!! Especially because it’s not touristy like the beaches here in Europe. Isolated beach all to myself? Yes please 😉
That’s the great thing about Australia- there are so many gorgeous beaches that they are rarely crowded.
Those are some amazing views!!
Sooo pretty, but pretty much the whole island is amazing views.
Oh wow, it’s just so beautiful isn’t it? I’ve done the walk once, and I remember it being SUCH a hike (although it was maybe four days after doing The Overland Track so that might have had something to do with the tired). Love your photos! #wanderfulwednesday
I’m glad I’m not the only one- it was tough! You definetly had an excuse to be puffed though. I bet the overland track was stunning.
That’s definitely worth the climb! What a wonderful view 🙂
It was worth all the sweat and tired lungs once we got to the beach.
Those blue skies are mesmerising – too pretty! Take me there… please! 😀
You should definitely visit ☺.
